This webpage is where we will maintain a running total of our fundraising efforts for the endowed MFA 2020 Fund, which will support future MFA students who are Black, Indigenous, or People of Color.
We chose the name “MFA 2020 Fund” to reflect the historic context, a year which brought momentous change and drew much needed attention to systems of oppression. This fund is one of many important steps we are taking to address systemic racism in our program.
UPDATE: Along with so many generous alumni and past mentors, we want to thank the Calmenson Foundation, which recently became a significant donor to the MFA 2020 Fund. Thank you all so much for your support!
Our new goal is to raise $40,000 during 2022, allowing us to increase the size of the yearly grant to match the other MFA merit awards. Currently, we have raised $31,233.
To make a donation, please follow these directions:
- go to: https://mcad.edu/about-
mcad/support/make-gift - In the “Designation” section, select “Other”, and in the box that appears, put “MFA 2020 Fund” (This is important– please don’t just select the pre-populated “MCAD Scholarships” option.)
- Complete the online donation form.
- make the check out to MCAD
- put “MFA 2020 Fund” either in the memo line or enclose a note saying that’s how you’d like the donation to be directed–even a Post-It note is fine
