This years Room & Board (RB) competition yielded 24 applicants from which 5  finalists were chosen. The winning design, entitled “Clutch”, was created by Steve Listwon (MFA ’13). “Clutch” could potentially go into production over the next year and would be the first in the competitions 10 year tradition. Listwons’ work utilizes custom connectors paired with a variety of materials ranging from oriented strand board (OSB) to high density plastics to bronze. His work relies on the juxtaposition of materials, experimenting with construction, while aiming to stay true to function. Listwon’s current work can be seen here.
