TEACHING PHILOSOPHY & MENTORSHIP

Of all my teaching experiences, I value the MFA Mentorship role above most. I appreciate the one-on-one dynamic as it allows for focused attention to the student’s development. I also enjoy the rapport and trust that is built over the two years of working with a student. I teach based on my professional experience and aim to give students a practice-based context for their creative output. I put emphasis on developing a creative process. I firmly believe that a well-defined process can provide a lifelong foundation that supports ever evolving ways of making.
