BIO

Sean works between idea and experimentation on projects that typically end up being long-term and multi-faceted. Their last one, Universal Capital, re-writes an archive of 17th century maps that demonstrate the transition from colonialism to capitalism. Sean collaged them with pictures from protests they attended and used the prints in performances from Wall Street to the Capitol.

TEACHING PHILOSOPHY & MENTORSHIP

As a teacher, I value and enjoy working with students who are actively experimenting and mixing fields. I have much experience to draw from, with backgrounds in art (independent gallery curation, professional photography, film, video), dance (Contact Improvisation), music (experimental, improv), performance, philosophy, and writing. I studied at academies and schools in the EU and States, and also attended the Great Books Program, in which teacher-student conversation is both open and critical. Sharing, explaining, and challenging ideas leads to insights that develop and hone methods of making. It is also great fun.
