BIO

Jonathan Aller is a Latinx artist that contemporizes classical portraiture. Using two-dimensional shapes, saturated colors, and a naturalistic approach, all these elements together spark a conversation about what portraiture is in contemporary times. Jonathan got his B.F.A from Ringling College of Art and Design, then got his M.F.A from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. Jonathan Aller has trained in Florence, Italy, at the Angel Academy of Art learning the techniques of the masters in drawing and painting.

TEACHING PHILOSOPHY & MENTORSHIP

First and foremost, I am an artist, one that lives and breathes the need to create. As an educator I look to conversing with students and helping them grow as artists. A major component of my teaching philosophy is being curious and constantly open to learning. The mentorship program is a unique way of coming together and seeing how I can help you get to where you want to go. This is what I believe the core of the mentorship program is, staying open to different ideas and pushing yourself as much as you can. As a mentor I look forward to being on this journey.
