Manav Gupta / Visiting Artist & Studio Visits

December 1, 2015

On Thursday November 12, artist Manav Gupta generously visited MCAD’s MFA program to view student work and share his wisdom with our students.

Gupta is a versatile contemporary artist from India who enjoys international acclaim. His pieces span from canvas paintings to performance, poetry, film, music, and sculpture. His work confronts themes of environmental responsibility, and “a contemplation of spiritual and the natural communion.” He was the first-ever artist-in-residence at the home of India’s former president, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, and his work has been exhibited around the globe.

Gupta also spoke to the entire MCAD community as a part of our President’s Lecture Series, and attended a luncheon with select MFA students and our president, Jay Coogan.

We offer many thanks to Manav Gupta for his generosity and time.
