Yijia Li is a painter from Shanghai, China. Focusing on the female figure as her main subject matter, Li references a lifetime of diverse personal struggles in her work. By sourcing personal experiences of cultural contrasts, homosexuality, and feminist issues, Li strives to relate her perspective to the experiences of others.

Li’s artistic process is not only a process of exploring and painting and drawing and discovering materials but also, more importantly, a journey to achieve that common experience.
