Jacob Yeates / 410 Gallery Project Bike

September 29, 2016

This summer, second-year illustration MFA candidate Jacob Yeates was selected to participate in 410 Gallery’s “Project Bike: Traveling Minnesota one Piece at a Time.”

From MN Artists: “410’s Project Bike is a state wide bicycle trip, art exhibition, and travel documentary with local artists setting the destinations. For a few weeks this summer the 410 Project’s Director Dana Sikkila will set out on a trip with her bike, trailer, and camera to connect with MN artists, learning the who, what, and why her fellow Minnesotans make art.

At each stop she’ll collect work from artists to travel along with her till she returns back to Mankato to put it on display.

Along the way her trip will be documented to share the stories of these selected artists, ranging from big cities to rural america. Follow her along the way while she connects Mankato’s arts to Minnesota artists.”

Sikkila arrived on her bike at the MCAD MFA campus on August 17 with a film crew, to collect Jacob’s work and document him in his studio.

The show opening will take place on October 7, 7-9pm, at 410 Gallery in Mankato, MN.
