Alumni Highlight / Steven Listwon ‘13

July 9, 2015
Steve Listwon is a graduate from the Minneapolis College of Art & Design’s 2013 MFA class. His focus during his two years there was on furniture design as it relates to mass manufacturing and systematic construction. He also developed his practice by experimenting with other facets of art and design to take advantage of the MFA program’s multidisciplinary studio setting. Steve collaborated with graphic designers, musicians, sculptors, and photographers to help broaden his methods of expression.

“The highlight of the diversity offered to students at MCAD culminated with the workshop I completed with 3M. I had the unique opportunity to work alongside students in a creative environment to realize graphic, product, and packaging designs for an international leader of innovation.” – Steve

In the summer of 2014, Haik Tokatlyan and Steven Listwon founded Jaywalk Studio outside of Boston, MA. The studio specializes in research, product design, and fabrication. Their practice includes self-initiated projects coupled
with client services. During the company’s first year, Jaywalk developed a distinct portfolio through site-specific furniture installations, product development, competition entries, and other collaborative efforts. Moving forward, their focus is on adding to this work by introducing a new line of internally generated designs that will become available in the fourth quarter of 2015. The goal of this new direction is to launch items that embrace local, short-run manufacturing and to test the public’s reaction to an aesthetic that is formulated by Jaywalk.
