Eric Yevak / 2016 Thesis Candidate

April 27, 2016

Eric Yevak uses traditional painting methods combined with digitally created work to address the concept of transcendence inside of the contemporary sublime.

The work apprehends loss and desire: loss of self, of the moment, of faith; desire for security, understanding, and identity. It approaches struggle as a method to transcend conscious existence. The work is not a visual representation of the struggle leading to the point of transcendence, but the enticing loss of self inside the apex moment.

Be sure to join us on Friday, May 13th at our new MFA Graduate Studios to enjoy Eric’s thesis work along with the other 2016 graduates.
