Dan Lund / President’s Lecture Series

October 6, 2015

Dan Lund is an ’89 graduate of MCAD and has been an animator at Walt Disney Animation Studios since then. After his public presentation at main campus, the MFA program was lucky enough to have Dan for a couple of hours for studio visits. He was able to chat with a comics major, illustrator and a filmmaker about their practices and current projects.

He has contributed to dozens of classic features including Beauty and the Beast and Aladdin as well as Pocahontas, The Lion King, TarzanMulan, and The Princess and the Frog. Recently, Lund served as effects design lead on 2013’s Academy Award-winning Frozen, the biggest animated film of all time.

Outside of the studio system, Lund has been very active in bringing non-Disney themed projects from concept to completion, including documentaries, web series, animated apps and the current Aria For A Cow featuring a never-before-heard-song by Alan Menken and Howard Ashman.
