Last week, Zach Collins (MFA ’14 Collage), held an exhibition and book signing at Soolocal Gallery (hosted by Soovac) in Minneapolis.

The book signing was for the publication: Recycled Trophies, by Zach and Aaron Beebe. Zach also debuted his upcoming publication, We said hello and shook hands, which is a book filled with collaborations done by Zach Collins and over 100 artists from around the world.  The book will be accompanied by several collaborative works from artists some local artists and stretching out to over 20 countries.

“My work is an introspective and process-based experiment in combining contrasting materials to form an entirely new and unique visual whole.  I enjoy working with found overlooked fragments, discarded objects and vintage imagery collected from off the street, newspapers, magazines, and second hand stores.  I simultaneously dispel the intended context of the image while creating a new one as soon as I cut it from the source. I then reinvent it, along with accompanying pieces, into a new conversation, one that expands the concept using recognizable, yet fractured components.”
