This month, MFA candidate Chelsea Reeck ’17 was selected to exhibit works from her project Side Effects May Include in a solo show at Soo Visual Arts Center in Minneapolis.

The work is a photographic exploration of her personal experiences with Hodgkins Lymphoma and the reverberating effects of her treatment.

From Soo VAC: “Photographing personal trauma through the documentation of spaces and objects as evidence of her illness articulates the traumatic effects of chemotherapy treatment and the conflicts created by its current role as the immediate response to cancer diagnosis. Interrogating a world that is not often explored through the unique experience of being sick has allowed her an intimate view of the medical industry.”

The show opened in conjunction with Soo VAC’s Juried Exhibition “Untitled 13” on February 11th, and will be on display through March 25th. Nice work, Chelsea!
