MCAD MFA 2013 painting graduate, Ashely Peifer, just completed her first solo exhibition at the Burnet Gallery in Minneapolis. Sugar Sugar showed off Peifer’s ability to create lighthearted colorful paintings that evoke nostalgia.

Still, don’t let the pink spun sugar cloud your judgment; Peifer is whip-smart, and sees her work as a way to capture memory with a stillness that doesn’t slip into angst-ridden self-absorption.
